SCHOOLING IS SERIOUS

Lack of success is often the cumulative result of a number of small, on-going omissions of continuous neglect of work.  A number of learners are habitually being referred to the Friday detention class for this constant neglect of work and bad behaviour.  The parents of these learners ignore these signs at their peril as learners who do not produce the required work cannot be assessed and, as a result may be in serious danger of not progressing to the next grade at year end.  I have to ask myself that when these detention slips are produced at home, what the parents actually do about it.  Are you pro-active or do you let it slide?  Point 9.19 of the Code of Conduct (School Rules) sates that learners have to attend detention if so required.

ROAD SAFETY

Our children are crossing the road on a daily basis when they are being picked up after school.  Please adhere to the speed limit in Medlar and Boekenhout Street, AT ALL TIMES.  Your co-operation in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please pay special attention to the pedestrian crossings as I would not like our learners to be injured.
