LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES

Learners undertake to LEARN!!

EDUCATION IS SERIOUS

I might have said this in a previous Newsletter but at the onset of the new year it is important that I repeat it. You, as a parent should not endeavour to protect your child from all the bumps along the road of life.  They need to take responsibility for their work or lack thereof.  We already have learners in the first two weeks of 2013 with crosses for classroom misdemeanours and they will attend detention in the third week of school.  If you are the parent of such a child, the detention is not enough.  You need to take additional punitive steps against your child.  It is after all, only the second week of the year.  Similarly please do not bring things to school that the child has left at home.  The child must quickly learn that you will not fetch and carry for them.  They must accept the consequences of their oversights.

COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES – 2013

The school fee tariff is R5 900 per learner per year, and may be paid over 10 months.  Payment options are as follows:

Full payment at the beginning of the year; or Three pro-rata payments payable at the end of Term 1 2 and 3; or ten monthly instalments of R590 beginning January with the final (10th) instalment due end of October.

SPONSORSHIP

Would those of you wishing to make a cash sponsorship donation (to assist indigent parents/learners to pay a portion of the 2013 school fees), please ensure that you indicate clearly on the cheque, deposit slip, Internet banking or envelope, that the amount is for SPONSORSHIP (SCHOOL FEES).

SCHOOL UNIFORM

A few minor changes have taken place regarding the school uniform.  The stockists have been out of stock of certain items.  I can assure you that the matter has been addressed.  However, the new uniform is to be phased in over a twelve month period.  Starting 9 January 2013.  Boys must, for summer, wear the official short sleeve shirt with the school badge – NO Pep, Ackermans, Woolworths short sleeve shirts are allowed.  For Physical Education, in particular swimming; the official school costume is to be worn.  NO white shorts as these are replaced by the board shorts.
