EDUCATION IS SERIOUS

Parents can instil excellence in their children by making it a habit.  Don’t allow your children to deliver anything but their best efforts and they must continue to deliver their best efforts over and over again until it becomes habit.

SPONSORSHIP

Would those of you wishing to make a cash sponsorship donation (to assist indigent parents/learners to pay a portion of the 2012 school fees), please ensure that you indicate clearly on the cheque, deposit slip, Internet banking or envelope, that the amount is for SPONSORSHIP (SCHOOL FEES).

Computer related expenses R154 382, consumable stock R60 547, hardware/maintenance/plumbing R4 910, kitchen supplies R1 414, office stationery R273 and Senior Primary Books R2 112.

CLEANERS CHRISTMAS HAMPER

It’s a tradition at our school that parents contribute towards a Christmas Hamper for our cleaning staff, as a way of conveying to them our sincere thanks for the wonderful work they do during the course of the year.  It will be greatly appreciated if each learner could bring to school one or more non perishable items as a contribution.

MY SCHOOL CARD

Please remember to support our business partners on a regular basis.  We had raised R32,997.08 by the end of October.

DESK PADS/DIARIES

The staff would be most grateful for the donation of these items for next year.

SCHOOL LEAVERS

Should your child be leaving the school at year end (Grade 1 – 6), please forward a letter to this effect to the class teacher urgently.

Will not be issued to learners next year if they did not return all their books this year.

SCHOOL FEES – 2012

ALL SCHOOL FEES SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL BY NOW.

SCHOOL FEES – 2013

The school fee tariff for next year, 2013, will be R5 900 per child per year, and may be paid over 10 months.

IMPORTANT DATES

School closing:

Friday 7 December.

PLEASE NOTE school will close at 12:00.

School opening:

Wednesday 9 January 2013.

BARGAIN BIN

HELP!! The Bargain Bin is only open two mornings a week as we cannot find anybody to assist.  Please contact us urgently if you are able to assist. It will only require 2 – 3 hours of your time a week.

CLOSING TIMES

As from Wednesday 14 November the school will close at 12:30 daily.  Parents are required to make transport arrangements in order for the learners to get home.  Learners who are waiting for transport will not be allowed to loiter around outside the school – they will have to remain inside the school perimeter until their transport arrives.

GRADE 7 SCHOOL UNIFORMS

I request that parents speak to their Grade 7 children about the unacceptability of defacing their school uniforms on the last day of the year.  These items of clothing are expensive (as parents regularly remind me) and it’s not acceptable that learners write on them etc.  It would be much appreciated if learners/parents would rather donate or hand in uniforms for re-sale to the Bargain Bin.

THANK YOU

The Grade 3 educators would like to thank ALL the moms who helped decorate t-shirts and who helped with applying make-up on the two nights of the Christmas play.  Thank you!

GRADE 7 FAREWELL

Many thanks to all the parents who contributed to the huge success of the Barn Dance.  Fun was had by all.

CHRISTMAS PLAY

Sincere thanks to all those who were involved in the Christmas Play this year.  The performances by the Grade 3’s and the Choir were outstanding.

SCHOOL COMMUNICATOR

Please download from the Internet or collect a disc of the above programme from the office. This will keep you up to date on everything at the school.  It is proving to be a very successful and immediate way of getting information to parents.

THANK YOU

A big thank you to all the Grade 5 learners who responded to these appeals and donated:

Toiletries for comfort bags given to victims of abuse.
Children’s books for underprivileged schools.
Toilet rolls for St Lawrence’s Haven for abused children.
Monetary donations to the SPCA
