CLEANER’S CHRISTMAS HAMPER

It is a tradition at our school that parents contribute towards a Christmas Hamper for our cleaning staff as a way of conveying to them our sincere thanks for the wonderful work they do during the course of the year.  It will be greatly appreciated if each learner could bring to school one or more non perishable items as a contribution.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

The Grade 3s are looking for a toy sheep or lamb to use in the Christmas play.  It must be large enough to be seen by the audience.  If you have a suitable toy sheep that we may borrow, please contact Mrs Mochas.

The Christmas Pageant will take place on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November.

AGM

The AGM will take place on Wednesday 13 November at 19:00 in the school hall.

A reminder to parents that we need a quorum of at least 15% (214 parents) in order to go ahead on the 13th November 2013.

COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES – 2013

The school fee tariff is R5 900 per learner per year, and may be paid over 10 months.  Payment options are as follows:

Full payment at the beginning of the year; or Three pro-rata payments payable at the end of Term 1 2 and 3; or ten monthly instalments of R590 beginning January with the final (10th) instalment due end of October.

ALL PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE PAID IN FULL BY THE END OF OCTOBER.  AN URGENT APPEAL IS MADE TO ALL PARENTS WHO ARE IN ARREARS TO PAY THE FEES BY THIS TIME.  ACCOUNTS IN ARREARS WILL BE HANDED OVER TO OUR DEBT-COLLECTION AGENCY FROM NEXT WEEK.

CLOSING TIMES DURING EXAMS

As from today, Friday 8 November, the school will close at 12:00 daily.  Parents are requested to make transport arrangements in order for the learners to get home early and study.  Learners who are waiting for transport will not be allowed to loiter around outside the school; they will have to remain inside the school perimeter until their transport arrives.

SCHOOL LEAVERS

Should your child be leaving the school at year end (grade 1 – 6), please forward a letter to this effect to the class teacher urgently.

SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT

All learners are to abide by the provisions of the Code of Conduct and it is the parents’ responsibility to ensure compliance.  Copies of the Code are available from the school secretary.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents must ensure that endeavour to promote positive interpersonal relations between learner, educator, other parents and Governing Body in the best educational inters of their children.

SCHOOL RULES

The three sets of jungle gym equipment are strictly out of bounds before and after school hours.  They may only be used during school time under adult supervision.

EDUCATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Educators must ensure that they are well prepared on a daily basis to perform their educative task both with and outside the classroom and are in possession of the appropriate working materials.

LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES

Learners undertake to attend all classes daily and on time.
