It’s essential that parents pay close attention to the kind of friends their children choose.  The above quote illustrates the significant effect that a friend can have on your child, positive or negative.  Please discourage friendships that are harmful to your child.  The younger the child, the less developed is his/her ability to choose appropriately and parental input and guidance is required.

WINTER/SUMMER UNIFORM

From Monday 16 September, ALL LEARNERS MUST BE DRESSED IN THE FULL SUMMER UNIFORM.

Boys:  Shorts, short sleeve shirt with the Rand Park Primary badge, jersey or bunny jacket optional.

Girls:  Summer dress, short white socks, jersey or bunny jacket optional.

Learners not conforming to this will result in a straight detention.  Thank you for your co-operation.

COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES – 2013

The school fee tariff is R5 900 per learner per year, and may be paid over 10 months.  Payment options are as follows:

Full payment at the beginning of the year; or Three pro-rata payments payable at the end of Term 1 2 and 3; or ten monthly instalments of R590 beginning January with the final (10th) instalment due end of October.

ALL PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE PAID IN FULL BY THE END OF OCTOBER.  AN URGENT APPEAL IS MADE TO ALL PARENTS WHO ARE IN ARREARS TO PAY THE FEES BY THIS TIME.  ACCOUNTS IN ARREARS WILL BE HANDED OVER TO OUR DEBT-COLLECTION AGENCY FROM THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER.

OLD DEBTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN HANDED OVER.

Would those of you wishing to make a cash sponsorship donation (to assist indigent parents/learners to pay a portion of the 2013 school fees), please ensure that you indicate clearly on the cheque, deposit slip, Internet banking or envelope, that the amount is for SPONSORSHIP (SCHOOL FEES).

40 YEARS

As the school is 40 YEARS old this year I would like to ask parents to support any initiative that we might have in order to celebrate this auspicious occasion.

ATHLETICS – PRESTIGE MEETING

Well done to our athletes who participated in the Prestige Meeting on Wednesday 11 September.  We came 4th out of five schools.  We did extremely well and I am proud of you all!

SCHOOL CLOSING TERM 3

School will close at 12:00 on Friday 20 September.  Please ensure that your child leaves school immediately after school closing.  Learner Reports will be handed to learners at this time.  School will re-open for Term 4 on Tuesday 1 October.

TALENT EVENING

This will take place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th September from 18:30 – 20:00.  Entrance will be R10 per person due to the fact that we would like to upgrade the music room.  Seats will not be allocated but will be on a first come first serve basis.  Tickets can be bought from the office, during BOTH BREAKS on Monday and Tuesday.

The results from Wednesday’s Prestige meeting were as follows:  1st Meredale, 2nd Rivonia, 3rd Bryandale, 4th Rand Park and 5th Northcliff.

SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT

All learners are to abide by the provisions of the Code of Conduct and it is the parents’ responsibility to ensure compliance.  Copies of the Code are available from the school secretary.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents must ensure that they maintain current or up-to date home work and emergency telephone numbers at the school and keep the school informed of any change of address.

LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES

Learners undertake to have the homework diary signed, by a parent, on a daily basis.

SCHOOL RULES

Do not interfere with the possessions of others.

EDUCATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Educators must ensure that they encourage and endeavour to maintain learner involvement in the activities of the school .
