There appears to be a rise in this phenomenon, especially among the Grade 6 and 7 learners. This has become a problem and parents need to be aware of what their sons and daughter are looking at, doing and saying on their cell phones. We have been asking for your co-operation on a number of occasions. This is what you can do:
- Check your child’s cell phone on a regular and unexpected basis
- Try and purchase cell phones that do not have cameras – this stops them from taking, sending and receiving visual images.
- Take away the cell phone before bedtime and hand it over in the morning. A lot of nonsense goes on at night while you think your child is sleeping.
I am currently receiving loads of complaints from parents about social network bullying, Facebook, BBM, etc. Please talk to your children about this serious matter. Thank you for your co-operation in this regard.
