WELCOME

To all new learners, their parents and especially Grade 1 learners.  We trust that your association with our school will be a pleasant and mutually rewarding one.  Welcome too, to all returning educators and learners.  It’s important for learners to understand that serious application to work must begin immediately, as the school follows a policy of continuous assessment where all aspects of class and homework are evaluated.

ANNUAL INTERHOUSE GALA

Will be held on Wednesday 29 January.  A letter with full details will be distributed in due course.  Please read it carefully.  Attendance by all learners is compulsory.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  Please come and support your children.

Boys:  Grey shorts, blue short sleeved shirt with badge, grey socks, black lace up shoes.

Jerseys (optional) with no badge can only be worn till end of March.

TRACKSUIT TOP: (optional during summer) NO OLD TRACKSUIT TOPS MAY BE WORN, only the new ones are to be worn from 2014.  The phasing out period is finished.

COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES – 2014

The school fee tariff is R6 500 per learner per year and may be paid over 10 months. Payment options are as follows:

Full payment at the beginning of the year; or three pro-rata payments payable at the end of Term 1, 2 and 3; or ten monthly instalments of R650 (beginning January with the final (10th) instalment due end of October.

Payments may be made in cash, by cheque or via electronic banking.  The school’s banking details are as follows:  Standard Bank, Northcliff, Current Account Number 002954494, Branch Code 006305.  Please use your child’s full name as reference.

SCHOOL TIMES

School will start at 7:30 EVERYDAY.  On Wednesday and Friday school will close at 13:30 (grades 4 – 7).  Punctuality in the morning is essential for all learners.

GRADE 1s FULL DAY

As from Monday 3 February Grade 1s will finish school at 13:00.

DUPLICATING PAPER

Each learner Grades 4 – 7 are expected to bring 1 ream (500 sheets) of 80g white duplicating paper to school by the end of the week.  Would parents please ensure that this is done.

INTERNAL ARRANGEMENTS

Assembly will now take place on a MONDAY and the Group Test will be written on a TUESDAY.

GROUP TESTS

Tuesday 21 January:

Grade 4 – 7:  English

The Tuesday Group Test is very important as it makes up in Grade 4 – 6, 25% and in Grade 7, 60% of the term/year mark.  Learners must attend school on Tuesdays to write the weekly Group Test.
