EDUCATION IS SERIOUS

Parents must correct their child’s unacceptable behaviour/attitude formally and forcefully.  The softly, softly approach seldom works, particularly with the boys.  It’s very distressing to see the number of learners who have already had detention after detention.

I have to ask myself the question:  “Where are these parents and what are they doing?  Are they totally incapable of disciplining 8 – 13 year old children?” I find it incomprehensible that adults allow themselves to be ruled by their children.  The fact that the misdemeanour happens at school does not absolve the parent from the responsibility of sorting out the problem.  Do parents no longer feel any shame or embarrassment when their children continuously act in an unacceptable fashion?  Is it not a reflection upon you and your home environment?  Parents of problematic learners need to act and act quickly.  I cannot allow the educators and those learners wishing to learn, to be held ransom by the few unruly elements.  I need parents to address this issue immediately.

WINTER/SUMMER UNIFORM

There will be a two week transition period from Monday 2 September to Friday 13 September, during which learners may choose to wear either the full Winter or Summer uniform.  From Monday 16 September ALL LEARNERS MUST BE DRESSED IN THE FULL SUMMER UNIFORMParental co-operation in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
