TALENT EVENING
This will take place on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th September from 18:30 – 20:00. Entrance will be R10 per person due to the fact that we would like to upgrade the music room. Seats will not be allocated but will be on a first come first served basis. Tickets can be brought from the office during both breaks from Monday 8 September.
ANNUAL NATIONAL ASSESSMENT
The 2014 cycle of Annual National Assessment will be administered in all public and designated independent schools from 16 – 19 September. During this period, all learners in Grades 1 – 6 will write nationally set tests in English and Mathematics. The results will be used to report progress related to achieving goals set in the action plan 2014, towards schooling 2025. A letter with more details will follow.

LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES
Learners undertake to respect all persons (teachers, peers and parents) and property at all times.
COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES – 2014
The school fee tariff is R6 500 per learner per year and may be paid over 10 months. Payment options are as follows:
Full payment at the beginning of the year; or three pro-rata payments payable at the end of Term 1, 2 and 3; or ten monthly instalments of R650 (beginning January with the final (10th) instalment due end of October.

WINTER/SUMMER UNIFORM
There will be a two week transition period from Monday 1 September, during which learners may choose to wear either the FULL Winter or Summer uniform. From Monday 15 September, ALL LEARNERS MUST BE DRESSED IN THE FULL SUMMER UNIFORM. Parental co-operation in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
SPRING ASSEMBLY/CIVVIES DAY
It will be much appreciated if every learner could bring a small posy of flowers to the school Assembly on MONDAY 1 SEPTEMBER as part of our community outreach programme. These flowers will be delivered to local Old Age Homes after our Spring Assembly. If there are any parents who are able to assist with these deliveries, please contact the office on (011) 793-7434/5. This day will also be Civvies Day and those wishing to participate in this event must please donate R5 to the Grade 7 fund. Parents must ensure that learners who participate are dressed in an acceptable, decorous fashion. There is absolutely no compulsion to participate and those who wish not to do so, must wear their school uniform on this day.
EDUCATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

GROUP TESTS
Tuesday 2 September: Grade 4 – 7: Social Sciences
The Tuesday Group Test is very important as it makes up in Grade 4 – 6, 25% and in Grade 7, 60% of the term/year mark. Learners must attend school on Tuesdays.

Cross Country: In our last meet of the season which was held at the Golden Harvest Park yesterday, the following runners came in the top 30 of their age groups: Bailey Matthew came 28th in the boy’s U9 race, Aimee Young came 16th and Anastasia Batis came 26th in the girl’s U9 race, Kyle Viede came 8th and Aidan Frank came 14th in the U12 boy’s race, Christopher Loos came 12th, Alex Bottin came 23rd and Jason Wilson came 24th in the U13 boy’s race, Jabulile Mbanjwa came 12th and Tarryn Batt came 17th in the U13 girl’s race and Tshepiso Rangaka came 17th in the U14 boy’s race. The following athletes also significantly improved their positions from the last race: Aydin January, Jason Gaskin, Wilmari Olivier, Liam Walters, Camaryn Moussa, Michael Burgess, Declan Thompson, Ikenna Ehirim, Kiash Chetty, Erin Oosthuizen, Leah Blignaut, Gemma Rood, Aimee Britnow.
