TIME MANAGEMENT
Children who learn how to manage their time are more likely to cope with the pressures and responsibilities of school. Our children often feel overwhelmed by our Tuesday testing programme, daily homework tasks and perhaps projects, but the reality is that they aren’t always taught the skills to deal with an increasing workload. Parents can help by teaching their children how to plan and manage their time. Try and break the workload into smaller bits with their own allocated time so that children can see the steps and consider how much time each task requires. Children also need time to play: time should be allocated to this as well. Perhaps put up a daily planner where they can fill in tasks and tick them off. Children must use a diary.
