EDUCATION
For those learners whose term 1 results are not what they or their parents would like them to be, the above quote applies; the holidays provide these learners with an opportunity to get back on track by taking an hour or so each day to get the little things right – catch up on incomplete work; tidy up their books; learn a little from their notes; practice Maths examples from the textbook; practice handwriting and figure formation; practice reading, etc. Schooling is serious and the results obtained in term 1 comprise one quarter of the final end of year progression/retention mark. So if this term’s result is poor, hard work lies ahead in term 2. If your child’s mark is below the grade average it becomes immediately obvious that your child is in fact performing at a level below that of his/her peers.
END OF TERM 1
On behalf of the Rand Park Primary staff I would like to wish all parents and learners a wonderful April and Easter Holiday. If you are going away please drive safely and return inspired and invigorated in term 2.
EXPENSES
Computer related expenses R3 950, Senior Phase books R325 and swimming pool R6 748.
APPLICATIONS FOR ENROLMENTS 2016
Application forms for 2016 will be available FROM Monday 13 April 2015 at the office and parents may return completed forms from TUESDAY 21 APRIL AT 05:00. A very serious request is made to parents NOT to encourage friends, relative, etc who live outside our immediate area to apply for space at our school. Our school is always over-subscribed and we must all co-operate to keep learner numbers in check, in order to control the Learner : Teacher ratio at the school. For Grade 1 learners, preference will be given to in-area learners who turn 7 during the course of 2016. Addresses and place of work will be verified.
