EDUCATION

A major factor in determining success is a positive attitude. This is particularly true of school work.  Learners must understand that the correct attitude will result in success.  There is no benefit in moaning, complaining and being negative about school, schoolwork, teachers, etc.  Parents must assist children in this regard and also at the same time support their children with homework and learning in general.  Check their diaries and workbooks on a daily basis.  There is always homework and revision to be done – thank you for your co-operation.

APPLICATIONS FOR ENROLMENT 2014

Application forms for 2014 are available at the office and parents may return completed forms from Wednesday 17 April 2013.  A very serious request is made to all parents not to encourage friends/relatives etc. who live outside our immediate area to apply for space at our school.  Our school is always over-subscribed and  we must all co-operate to keep learner numbers in check, in order to control the Learner: Teacher ratio at the school.  For Grade 1 learners, preference will be given to in-area learners who turn 7 during the course of 2014Personal and professional experience suggests that the enrolment of the younger learners can be problematic for them.  My honest opinion is for you to keep them out of formal education for the additional year.  Please let us all do whatever we can to ensure that we do not flood the school next year.  An increase in the Learner : Teacher ratio is certainly not in the best educational interest of your children.

Admissions/enrollments will open on Wednesday 17 April at 6:00 in the morning.

NEW CLOSING TIME FOR FRIDAYS

As from Friday 19 April, the school will close at 13:30 for the Senior Phase (Grade 4 – 7).  This is due to the fact that we are not writing cycle tests this Term.  The Foundation Phase will close at 13:00 as usual.  Please note that detention for Senior Phase will therefore start at 13:30 and finish at 14:45.
