Admission Procedure

RAND PARK PRIMARY IS A FEE PAYING PUBLIC SCHOOL.

GRADE 1 APPLICATIONS

Applications for 2025 enrolment will:
Open on Thursday 11 July 2024 at 08h00 and
Close on Monday 12 August 2024 at 23h59

GRADE 2-7 APPLICATIONS

2025 Admission Applications open at the start of Term 2 of every year. This is a manual process. Please email: admissions@randparkprimary.co.za for additional information.

Before e-Mailing us, please check that you meet the Placement Criteria detailed in 7. above in order to assist with a potential successful application. Preference is given to learners living in our feeder zone as prescribed by the Gauteng Department of Education.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS:

The GDE require ALL Grade 1 Applications to be completed online.

The Department of Education does the Grade 1 placements, as it is an online application process administered by them.

The GDE website to register your learner on is: www.gdeadmissions.gov.za

SOME GENERAL INFO RELATING TO THE PROCESS:

  1. Online applications will be done on the GDE ADMISSION PORTAL(gdeadmissions.gov.za)
  2. PLEASE ENSURE that you select a MINIMUM of 3 (three) schools of choice through the online system as this will better your chances of being placed at a school of your choice by the GDE.
  3. Applications may only be submitted during the official application period.
  4. The following INFORMATION is required to start your e-application:
  • Learner’s ID Number
  • Both Parents’ ID Numbers
  • Residential Address of Parents
  • Work Addresses of Parents
  • Name of Current Pre-Primary School
  • Current Grade
  1. The following DOCUMENTATION is required to be uploaded on your e-application:
  • CERTIFIED copies of UNABRIDGED Birth Certificate or Valid Passport and Visa of the Learner
  • CERTIFIED copies of Both Parents’ ID’s
  • Proof of Residential Address of Parents in the form of a CERTIFIED CoJ account if parents are the owners of the property OR CERTIFIED copy of Lease Agreement, CERTIFIED CoJ account in the owners name and a CERTIFIED copy of the owners ID if you are renting the property.
  • Proof of Work / Employment of Parents
  • Most recent report from the learners current Pre-Primary School
  • Vaccination Card of the learner
  1. PLACEMENT criteria in order of preference
  • Home address falls within the school’s feeder zone
  • There is currently a Sibling at the school
  • Work address falls in the school’s feeder zone
  • Home address is within a 5km radius
  • Home address is beyond a 30km radius

ONLINE APPLICATIONS

General Information

FEEDER ZONE

We are required to place children who live in our feeder zone, before placing learners from outside the area.  Our feeder area includes certain streets in Randpark Ridge, Boskruin and Bromhof. Should you wish to request an application, please state where you live in your request to assist us in advising you accordingly.

LANGUAGE OF TEACHING

We are an English teaching school with the additional learning language being Afrikaans.

GRADE R ENQUIRY

Unfortunately, we do not offer Grade R at our school and our students start in Grade 1.  Learners will need to turn 7 while they are in Grade 1

SCHOOL TOUR

You are welcome to join a school tour on any Thursday at 10:30 during school terms. There is no need to book – just come through and join us.

AFTERCARE FACILITIES

Rand Park Primary School does not offer an aftercare facility, however there are many facilities in and around the school that you can enquire at.  Please Google for further details on aftercare facilities closest to you.
